This hand pulled reduction print was inspired by a series of photographs I took of Eliel Saarinen's First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana. This place is an architectural masterpiece! The print was made using three separate blocks and reducing two of them, cutting away more linoleum in between each impression. Once you've finished, there can never be more of the print, as you are left with only the darkest areas remaining on the block. I'm guessing I put about 15 impressions on this print as it takes multitple impressions to achieve the gradient areas of the brushed on ink. It is signed and numbered 3/8.
The print is on handmade Japanese Sekishu paper and measures 9 1/4" x 13" with about 1/2" white border for matting and framing. There is a slight impression outside the image area (see images) which could be matted out. The proportions fit nicely in a standard 16" x 20" frame, and if you would like a mat included for $5.00, please convo me.
The print will be shipped flat with plenty of protection to ensure its safe arrival.
