Fresh from my garden! After accidentally chopping an iris stalk off with my weed wacker a few days ago, I brought it inside and stuck it in a vase. After a day of looking at its graceful stem, I decided it would make a good print. Here it is. It's a reduction woodblock print created using the traditional Japanese Moku Hanga methods of brushed on water based ink handpulled with a baren onto handmade mulberry paper. Since it is a reduction print...all the sheets are printed, more is carved away from the block then the sheets are printed, until all that's left on the wood block is the darkest area on the print.
This is an original piece of artwork and not a reproduction. It is signed and numbered 7/16 and measures 2.75" x 9.5" with an inch of border.
The print will be shipped Priority Mail packaged on board to ensure its safe arrival.
