Monotype Landscape Hand Pulled Fine Art Print
I'm listing several monotypes that came from a recent show at Sinclair College in Dayton, Ohio in their Works On Paper Gallery. This print was created by covering glass with oil paint and wiping away areas that show as light/white (reductive monotype) before making an impression. The process was repeated several times to build up color. A monotype is a one-of-a-kind print, as there is no matrix and it cannot be reproduced. It's basically a painting that's been transferred to paper.
These monotypes were hand pulled using a baren onto antique handmade Japanese paper from the 1950s. As the paper is handmade, there are visible bark inclusions and irregularities, adding to the appearance of the print.
It measures 12" x 12" with about 1/2" of surrounding border and is matted in an off-white and hinged with linen tape. The mat measures 19 3/4" x 19 3/4" for a standard Ikea Ribba frame.
It will be shipped flat via priority mail with plenty of packing to ensure it's arrival. I will provide extra insurance (within the US) on this work of art.
